Dental Technology

At Carolina Center for Advanced Dentistry, our dedication to our patients has led us to pursue the most advanced, state-of-the-art dental technology available in every field of dentistry. We are devoted to keeping on top of the latest scientific breakthroughs, allowing us to provide the most thorough diagnostics, and quick, successful, pain free procedures available today.

I-CAT/CT Scan

Creates a 3D image of your jaw bone for diagnostics of bone quality and density. These scanners allow excellent visualization of facial skeletal anatomy, but at significantly lower radiation dosages than that of medical-grade CT scanners. We are one of only a handful of dentists in our area that have this technology in our office for dental implant procedures.

CEREC

A dental restoration procedure that allows our Grand Strand cosmetic dentists to examine, diagnose, and create ceramic inlays, ceramic onlays, porcelain veneers and dental crowns in a single office visit. We were one of the first CEREC practices in South Carolina, and have been offering our patients this exciting single-visit solution for over ten years. This is a real service to patients with busy schedules!

Single Tooth Anesthesia (STA)

STA is a wand allowing our dentists to precisely and effectively anesthetize a single tooth. Using audio and visual directions, this technology allows for increased accuracy and decreased stress, and prevents that overt “numb” feeling.

Trimira

The most advanced oral cancer screening technology available on the market, and is able to identify biochemical and morphological changes in cells in the mouth, on the tongue and tonsils, and in the throat. This technology allows our oral cancer dentists to properly detect oral cancer before it becomes too serious to treat. Oral cancer kills more people nationwide than either cervical or skin cancer. It is essential that it be diagnosed as early as possible, and Trimira aids in this early detection.

DIAGNOdent

Allows our dentists to detect caries, or cavities. Even the smallest lesions affecting tooth substance can be detected at their earliest stages, allowing our dentists to protect and preserve the delicate substance of your teeth.

Digital Radiography

This is a filmless x-ray image that allows our dentists the full benefits of x-ray technology without the additional time and associated radiation to our patients. Additionally, there is no requirement for chemical processing of the x-ray film, providing a safer environment for both our patients and our staff. Many patients have shown concern for the effects of radiation on their bodies. Digital radiography is the most advanced technology available for allowing dentists to take x-rays with a minimum of radiation exposure to their patients.

Laser Technology

Lasers are used in many areas of our practice. We use a diode laser for soft tissue procedures, and implant surgery. We use WaterLase for cosmetic procedures like gummy smiles, as well as general dentistry procedures like root canals and cavity preparation. For periodontal disease we use PerioLase and LANAP.

3D Printer

With the use of 3D technology and printing, we’re able to create personalized results that suit both form and function.

3D Impression Scanner

No more messy or goofy impressions! See why 3D impression scanners are the best choice for dental impressions.
