Sedation Dentistry in Conway

We offer both the latest in pain free dental technology.
Many people suffer from dental phobia, fears that keep them not only from getting the cosmetic procedures they desire, but the general dental care they need to maintain healthy teeth and gums. At Carolina Center for Advanced Dentistry, our approach to dental phobias is multi-faceted. Starting with an environment and staff that are friendly and professional, we offer both the latest in pain free dental technology and, for patients who cannot overcome their anxiety, sedation dentistry.
Types of Sedation Dentistry
Depending on the extent of your dental phobia, our Myrtle Beach sedation dentists will choose a level of sedation that will allow you to be comfortable enough to have your dental procedures performed. The most common type of sedation is oral conscious sedation. With oral conscious sedation, a prescription sedative will be given to you to take before you come in for your visit. This pill allows many patients to comfortably receive their treatments while in a state similar to sleep.
Other options for sedation dentistry include:
- Nitrous oxide, or laughing gas
- Intravenous sedation (not provided in our office)
Our dentists will work closely with you, listening carefully to your concerns, before suggesting what type of sedation they fell will best benefit your unique case.
Benefits of Sedation Dentistry
The primary benefit of sedation dentistry is that it allows patients who have a fear of the dentist to have any procedure imaginable performed without the associated anxiety. Another benefit is that the procedure will seem to last only moments, even when it may take hours to complete, and it may even allow our dentists to perform complex procedures like smile makeovers in fewer visits.
If you avoid seeing a dentist for routine checkups and cleanings, sedation dentistry can allow you to receive optimal care for your teeth and gums. Cosmetic procedures that you desire to achieve a beautiful, radiant smile, and can be performed without discomfort and fear. Sedation dentistry allows all of our patients to receive the care they deserve while also respecting the delicate fears that can be associated with dental visits.
The dentists at Carolina Center for Advanced Dentistry were trained and are members of the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation. As members, we are qualified to safely treat our most anxious patients in a compassionate manner. You will never have to worry when you are under our care.
